Since I just celebrated my 29th Birthday the pressure is on to mark things off of my list! Not to mention, Blake and I are getting more closely funded for our move to South Sudan, so we expect to begin preparing and making our move in the next weeks. This makes me realize there are a lot of things I need to accomplish before we leave.
This past weekend I did officially, for the first time in my life, shoot a gun! Its crazy to think I have never done this, especially since Blake LOVES guns! I ended up with an arm full of bruises to prove it, but in the end I did it!
Up until this point I had always been a bit nervous around guns. Especially because Blake owns them and they have always been in the house. He walked me through gun safety, how to aim, how to take off the safeties, how to shoot, you know the works. We shot at clay targets and of course I missed every single one of my targets, but the experience itself was quite thrilling!
I would like to try again. Learn how to be more steady, learn how to aim better, and how to shoot better. But now I can safely say, guns aren’t as scary as I thought!
(It looks like both of my eyes are closed in this picture! I assure you I did have one eye open searching for my target)!

Now South Sudan?! Exciting! I have a friend who recently moved there and another one who teaches at a school in Sudan (not the southern variety). Let me know and I can connect you guys!
